"It is a slick crime thriller, following three days of the lives of four girls, and is the brainchild of Noel Clarke- who wrote, co-directed, co-produced and acts in the film"
The concept of the audience research and for promotional application was really clever. They took a different look at making the audience interested in the product, and
The promotion of the product was mainly done by using the outtakes and the behind the scenes footage that they had. They launched this on YouTube or significant websites. They made the advertising mainly on the internet to "maintain an online presence of the film". The social networking websites were largely supported by an online advertising campaign which accounted for 20% of the overall advertising budget. They also used a number of sites to online promote the film. For example they used sites like MTV, Google, YouTube, MySpace and many more.
Throughout the advertising and the making of the film a fair amount went wrong. One of the downfalls was that there was failure to create awareness throughout the ongoing online campaign. An important statistic is that 99.65% of the traffic on the internet comes through Facebook, this means that the twitter pages did not contribute any traffic to the application. Another thing that went wrong was that Sony found it challenging to make a technically complex marketing campaign with not a lot of time to make it. It was also hard for them as there was so many people and companies that wanted to partner with them. As a result of this, it did not earn as much media coverage as they hoped to achieve.
The target audience for this film ranged from the ages of 15-25, and it is rated as a 15,because of the language and sexual references throughout the film. The film was plotted and designed around a group of teenage girls. It is therefore targeted to an audience who are around the same age as the cast meaning that they can interact and relate to the characters in the film.
