4.How did you use new media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?
For this question, I will be creating a blog post for this question.
There was multiple technologies we used for the construction, research and planning of our media product.
The main media technology we used was the editing software we used to edit our production. The editing software is called Serif Movie plus. This was a really easy way to edit our production. The actual editing process took a long time to finish. However the learning of how to edit was fairly easy and efficient. having used this same editing software for my AS production I knew how to use it, but we have extended our knowledge and our skills so I had to learn more technical ways.
Another media technology we used throughout the planning to the filming of the production was the camera we used. We had been given a camera to use by the school which was a Canon LEGRIA HFR706. However this camera was not the best quality, this meant that we used this camera and my own personal one from home which is a Nikon D3300. By using both it meant we had variation of quality throughout the production which was a problem and would be improved when filming a second time. Below are pictures of the camera we used. From school, we also got given a tripod. A tripod was vital in the production of our media product. It made such a difference when looking back at the footage, even when we wanted it to look like the camera was being hand held. It was important that we had the tripod for support. In addition, it was very easy to export footage from both cameras.
Thirdly, Hannah and I also used our iPhones for the construction and research of our production. Some of the footage in the final product is also filmed on iPhones. We used an iPhone 5, and an iPhone 6 in our pre-production, construction and research of our media product. We mainly used our phones to take pictures for the pre production of our product. For example, for our blog posts we needed to take pictures of the characters and the settings etc. So this was the most efficient way to do this.
Furthermore, I have also used Publisher to create my ancillary texts, and also some of my blog posts have been created on publisher. I also used powerpoint and word also to create some blog posts. All of these media products were important as they helped me to gain information on the production of our product. For example it made it clearer what our ideas were and how the final product would look like. Another important medium we used was YouTube. YouTube was very important in the construction, research and planning of our product. It was important as we used it to research ideas for our production. This was the main reason, however we also used it to upload our final media product. We chose to use YouTube to do this as it was the most efficient way to upload and export our video. It is also important as we used it for the audience to view our media product, they then gave feedback on what we could improve and also said what they liked about it.
Blogger is also the most important media form I used as this is how I have presented my A2 media production. I have used it throughout the making and pre production of my final media product. It is easy to use and presents the blog posts well.
